I have received an ARC for an honest review from the author Mia Fox , whom I thank very much for allowing ,me to read he book. The book "Released" as Mousiey stated above is just that. Have you ever dreamed about finding your geni on the beach like Tony- or say just for the pleasure of it take all your troubles away. Well that not really what this book is about. Released - is about finding your true self and what you are capable of doing. You have to be able to release you inner self and not be selfish in asking for anything for yourself. In reading this book, I realized that these two BFF Samantha and Charlotte only wants whats best for the other. but first lets back up a little and start at the beginning. You see, A long time ago a beautiful women married a man ( yup we know that story ) Her name was Suzette or Suki. But after just a short marriage ( nope not telling how many years you gonna have to find out) She was gonna have her head disconnected from her body. However, they shrunk e her down and put her in a bottle with a spell that every so many years a releaser would Releaser . This time however the two girls found and releaser so they are both hers and she is bound to them. Now she is being hunted by bad bad gypsie Raven and Phineas. This book is a just one of a trilogy. I highly recommend this book. It is a very fast read and a very good read. It is a paranormal book. Has geni's , gypsies, time-travaling and alot more. The characters are described in detailed right down to the pin strip suit. And the black birds pecking and biting away at the characters seem so real. For all the above and not even counting the cover of the book I give the book a 25 plus star rating . Now with the cover included Mia Fox you get a amazing 55 star rating total. Introducing some of the characters of the book... In the book - you have Suki, James, Raven, Phineas, Sammatha, Charlotte.. So the following is some important information that you might like to know... Suzette Character Bio Suzette (Suki): Suzette is a three-hundred plus year old genie, but unless you want to start a rather sudden thunderstorm in your living room, you wouldn’t dare bring up her age. She spent her formative years in the South and whole heartedly believes that one should not discuss the age of a lady. But the real reason is that Suki is a tad bit vain and quite proud of the fact that she doesn’t look a day over 29. Having time traveled in and out of the lives of many a famous man, she has learned a thing or two about love, except where her own heart is concerned. Falling for James may be her un-doing. She is head over heels, but not quite used to the idea of a man serving as her protector. After all, she has always been the one to influence and lead the men in her life. Every man who has ever released her has established their place in history -- unfortunately, that place hasn’t always been rooted with rewards. Even though Suki may lead her releasors astray, her heart is in the right place and overflowing with the best of intentions. Raven Char Bio Raven: Raven is vengeful, manipulative, and power hungry. To see her in action, one wonders how she could ever have been best friends with the sweetly naive Suki. Then again, to see Raven now it’s hard to imagine that she was willing to sacrifice her own life to save her lover’s back in the days of the Salem Witch Trials. Losing a loved one at the prime of their life can change a person permanently and Raven is evidence of that. When Phineas came into her life, she took him under her wing. Theirs is a complicated relationship with Raven having bestowed extended life upon him. As a result, he is indebted to Raven, but to her chagrin his devotion to her is peppered with isolated acts of independence. Raven loves Phineas, but does not take kindly to another man standing up against her. As for her relationship with former BFF Suki, Raven turned her back on Suki when the genie refused to allow Raven to take the fall for her lover. Deep down, Raven knows her anger toward Suki is misplaced, but a secret (that will come out in book 2) she keeps close to her heart just won’t allow Raven to forgive and the anger that has brewed within her for centuries remains cast on Suki and anyone around her. James Char Bio James: James gives new meaning to the strong silent type. Although he has watched over Suki for centuries, he kept his presence unknown to the time traveling genie who would one day steal his heart. As a Shade, James is devoted to Suki and vowed to watch over her, although his presence in her life remained a secret until she was released by teens Charlotte and Samantha, and the wrath of Raven and Phineas -- demon gypsies -- was unleashed. When looking after Suki, James is both Southern gentleman and mischievous rogue. His personality borders on arrogant, but one could never place that label on him because gosh darn it, he has every reason to be arrogant. With charm and good looks, an astute knowledge of history, he is a supernatural hottie if there ever was one. Oh, and to complete the package, he’s also a highly successful business man with a fortune made during the Industrial Revolution. Talk about boyfriend material.

Now on to a litttle of this and that ....

From the darkness of my bottle I could hear the foreshadowing sounds of screeching tires, a girl’s screams, and the caw of blackbirds. Something harrowing was about to happen to these girls and I prayed that my release wouldn’t be too late. That’s when it began -- the unmistakable rumbling that I have heard throughout time brought on by the demon gypsies controlling the elements.

Samantha lay unconscious on the pavement. Her legs were both bent behind her body at distorted, unimaginable angles. Blood oozed from a nasty gash at her temple. The blackbirds immediately descended on her, tag teaming their efforts of lapping up the crimson river and maliciously playing with her hair, pulling and pecking a few strands loose as if wanting to return home with a souvenir of the atrocity.

            “Stop it! Get away from her!” the driver of the car stumbled toward Samantha’s body, shooing away those nasty blackbirds into the night sky. “Oh my god, what have I done? Somebody call an ambulance!”

James reached for a bottle with a beautiful label of scrolling vines adorned by delicate daisies whose petals were starting to fall. My eye traveled to the bottom of the label and I caught my breath in spite of myself. There, the petals had pooled into a lush heap and lying atop them was a woman with alabaster skin, brown hair that fell in waves past her shoulders and almond-shaped eyes of the darkest brown accented with long, black lashes.
